He may get permission to sell beer this summer but he's not too enthusiastic about the idea. It would be expensive, and - horros - cut down hot dog sales.

His 31 years with the North York Board of Education give teacher Walker Dear (middle) the second-longest service record of high school teachers in the borough. Technical director at Downsview Secondary School since 1962, he retires June 30. With him are two of his former students who now are teachers at the school.
