Each is unique: Orono artist Ron Barber (right) carves a different decoration for each Christie creation, in this case a painstakingly detailed eagle on a crooked beam that will project from the house over the front door.

One of great Canadian Oil Sands Ltd.'s longterm shareholders, Howard Bertram holds bronze alloy medallion given him and other shareholders as token of thanks by tar sands development firm. The company had a difficult first decade operating its tar sands plant and investors also have taken their lumps. No dividends have been paid on common stock and shareholders watched stock hit alltime high of $17, then fell to current price of $5.
