James D. Robinson III, chairman of New York based American Express Co., pictured at the Toronto Stock Exchange where his company's shares were listed for the first time yesterday. The firm is currently facing a challenge to its domination of the travellers' cheque market from Visa and Master Charge, whose credit cards dominate the international bank card scene. Master Charge hopes to be in the business by next May and Visa will make a decision shortly.

John Gilmore of Montreal is betting $35 million on the Dash 7. It'll be no contest, says Csumrik, above, in the cockpit of his firm's plane.
