He filed nomination papers to protest a system allowing anyone to run for office, now has changed his mind and is seriously campaigning on a platform of economic restraint, improved bus service to the northend, daycare and a plan to sell the Olympium to private enterprise.

Mark Baker, student president at the school, had earlier recommended a race-relations department to deal with the issue. We need it to sort out differences so they don't escalate to this point, Baker, a Grade 13 student, said yesterday. He is being credited for defusing last week's crisis by going on the school's public address system.
