Recent arrivals from Montreal are Lila and Arnold Dewhurst and son Philip, 12. Dewhurst is executive with Alcan, one of the big companies which are seeking new policies to ease the problem of frequent moves in upper echelons. Some companies provide interest-free loans, assist in selling houses, pay for license plate changes, alterations to carpets and phone charges.

Campbell, 55, has been operating a food bank out of his family's Brampton apartment for more than a year, providing a conduit for mountains of donated food. Circular Bed is where Savo Bojicie likes to lounge, spread out his papers and do lots of his creative work. The large bedroom area is designed like a small apartment where Savo and his wife can escape from the children and be alone. The bed has subtle light flowing out from underneath and it makes you feel as if you're floating in space, he said.
