Moreland, new United States consul in Toronto, found one of his first duties a pleasant one, cutting the cake at the 49th birthday party of the American Women's Club of Toronto. Mrs. W. F. Business booming: Allan Cohen of Grant's Jewellers on Church St. with some of the items that he has bought recently. One man brought in an exquisite emerald he'd paid $34,000 (U.S.) for 2 1/2 years ago. Cohen bought it - for a third of that. I'm looking for a 10 to 15 per cent profit on the stone, Cohen says.
