Mr. Justice Bora Laskin, at 61 one of the youngest and most junior members of the Supreme Court, is the new Chief Justice of Canada. The first Jewish member of the Supreme Court, Laskin has been a justice for less than four years. He succeeds Chief Justice Gerald Fauteux, 73, who resigned on Dec. 23.
