Hornyansky describes the plate as made in 1950 or 1951 with nine tone bitings. Impressions of the aquatint were issued as Christmas cards by the Toronto Harbour Commissioners, 1951.

Mordant: Nitric Acid
First stage of plate work: line etching on asphalt ground 
Second stage of plate work: resin dust aquatint. 

Number of tone bitings for print: 9 tones.
Copperplate, chrome faced fpr colour conservation (oxcide free).
(correspondence of 4 and 13 March 1961 in Accession File). 

Impressions of the aquatint were issued as Christmas cards by the Toronto Harbour Commissioners, 1951. SCPEE 1952, no. 58
