Lot 20, Con. 1 West. Yonge St. Davis Temperance hotel situated on west side of Yonge Street, south of Finch Avenue. Constructed around 1825 by James Davis, this inn was a favourite meeting place for Mackenzie's 1837 rebels. A tannery added about 1834 became the Davis Leather Company. F. J. D. Smith purchased the house around 1870 and named it the Durham House Farm.
