Lot 16, Con. 1 West. - 4812 Yonge St. This house was the residence of Benjamin R. Brown from 1920-1940. Mr. Brown built this house when he sold his store to the Dempsey Brothers. Sometime between 1940 and 1950 this was the Fred Myers Funeral Home. The house became the site of the Kane Funeral Home in 1950 when it was bought by Robert Simpson Kane and Gwendolyn Eadie Fraser. In 1985 the R. S. Kane Funeral Home moved from this location to 6150 Yonge St.
