Original Toronto Star caption: Pilot Killed; 4 hurt in Buttonville crash. This leased Piper Aerostar crashed in field moments after taking off from Buttonville Airport yesterday. The 25-year-old pilot; Robert Allan of Pickering; was killed; and four passengers are in stable condition in hospital. They were bound for a golfing holiday in the southern U.S. The impact of the crash ripped the plane s tail off and pieces of it and the wings were scattered across the site; just 200 metres (218 yards) from a farmhouse on Woodbine Ave.
