Original Toronto Star caption: Built over 40 years ago by Roy Ivor; 91; the naturalist s home now stands smouldering after a fire rushed through it; killing more than 100 birds. Ivor has been taking birds into his home and nursing them ever since the house was erected. When firemen from Erindale and Cooksville arrived at the Windinglane sanctuary they found Ivor outside dressed only in a nightshirt and huddled in a blanket. All but three of his birds were killed in the early morning blaze.
