Original Toronto Star caption: Life-saving action: Firefighters and paramedics work quickly with oxygen equipment to save the life of 53-year-old Paul Strum; who was overcome by smoke in a fire on Pembroke St. today. Strum was later taken to Toronto General Hospital. Fire gutted one unit in the 12-storey building and tenants of two floors were evacuated. The Ontario Fire Marshal's Office is investigating.
