Original Toronto Star caption: Stacks of canisters blaze in Etobicoke as fire swept the Pittsburgh Industries plant today. The resin-filled canisters exploded like bombs despite efforts of 100 firemen called out in a general alarm. A Tower of flames and smoke could be seen for 10 miles; and residents in the Lake Shore Blvd. W. Brown's Line area were removed while the fire raged uncontrolled. Spectators called scene a fireworks display.
