Original Toronto Star caption: Shari Thompson cradles three of her six kittens as she stands outside a burning rooming house on Melbourne Ave. yesterday. All tenants escaped the blaze but seven cats and a dog had to be rescued by firefighters. One kitten that had been overcome by smoke was revived after it was given oxygen.
