Original Toronto Star caption: Neat frame houses cling to the edge of 100-feet-deep crater gouged in St. Jean Vianney; Que.; by a landslide that swept away three streets of houses and left them looking like discarded dollhouses from the air. Cars also were carried down into the churning morass; and the road to the village of 1;300 was buried under tons of mud (lower left). Some residents whose houses still stand dangerously near the still advancing rim say they'll never return to them.
