Nine freight cars carrying lumber; auto parts and potatoes jumped the track under the Leaside bridge; tearing up 150 feet of track and giving a Canadian National Railways work crew a busy 24 hours while they cleaned up the mess; including the load of lumber spilled by one of the cars. No one was injured in the derailment.
