Original Toronto Star caption: In calmer days; Smokey the Bear posed with his owner; David McKigney. The supposedly tame bear attacked McKigney's 30-year-old woman friend in the bedroom of his home near Aurora yesterday. Lynn Orser died later in Sunnybrook Medical Centre. McKigney has often wrestled the 463-pound bear in exhibitions.
