Original Toronto Star caption: Golden voice of 28-year-old Steve Liptay won him the title of world champion livestock auctioneer -- and a gold microphone trophy to prove it. Liptay, from Bowmanville, used to practise auctioning imaginary cattle on his father's farm and polished his skills in Toronto Stockyards. He wanted to be an auctioneer ever since he was 5, when his father took him to an auction. He's first Canadian to win title.
