Original Toronto Star caption: A Twin Otter for Japan. This de Havilland Twin Otter will soon be on its way to Japan for delivery to Japan Southwest Airlines. Shown getting finishing touches at de Havilland's Downsview plant, short take-off and landing (STOL) craft can carry 11 passengers. Officials at de Havilland are hoping for further orders from southeast Asia. Meanwhile, the firm is building two prototype DHC-7 STOL aircraft which would carry 48 passengers and take off from runways that can be as short as 2,000 feet.
