Original Toronto Star caption: Crash at summerside; P.E.I.; today; involved a Canadian Forces Argus like the one shown here. One of the oldest military aircraft still in service in Canada; the Argus is powered by four turbo-prop engines. The bulbous object; below the flight deck houses electronic gear used for spotting submarines and other underwater objects. The federal cabinet has approved plans to replace the Argus with a U.S.-designed plane that will be called the Aurora.
