Original Toronto Star caption: The circus comes to town. The circus opened yesterday in Scarborough Town Centre. It's been years since the big top has been seen in the Metro area; and children of all ages have a chance to cheer all traditional characters - trapeze artists; sword swallowers and lion tamers - until next Thursday. Circus Vargas will operate in a 315-by-165-foot tent; 48 feet high; which can seat about 4;000 people. Michael Payne feeds elephants.
