The history of Jack & the bean-stalk. Edited and illustrated with six etchings by George Cruikshank. Copy 1: illustration 7 ''The fairies tie the giant up in the bean-stalk'' appears in 1st position (frontispiece), illustration 1 ''Jack climbing the bean-stalk'' appears in 7th position. Illustrations are hand-coloured. Copy 2 lacks leaf of text (p. 31, 32) and final plate. Illustrations are not coloured. Copy 2 rebound. Green stiff paper covers pasted in. Armorial bookplate of ''The Right Honble. Charles Lindley Viscount Halifax, 1887'' pasted on front endpaper. Copy 3: Bound in contemporary red morocco without original wrappers; with second set of hand-coloured plates. Undated. Date attributed by NSTC.
