Original Toronto Star caption: Rosedale mansion of F. William Nicks; president of the Bank of Nova Scotia; was damaged by an explosion this morning. It blew out windows and cut off power along posh Binscarth Rd. The blast hurled debris right across the street to the opposite sidewalk (foregound). The Nicks' chauffeur; James Whitton; was taken to Wellesley Hospital with burns to his face and arms. Mr. and Mrs. Nicks; who were in their $200;000 home; escaped without injury.
