Original Toronto Star caption: Hauling in $100 worth of fish a day is necessary to make the work worthwhile; says Doug Mummery as he inspects a catch of smelt and shad he and his brother; Don; caught in Lake Ontario. The brothers operate the only commercial fishing trawler on Lake Ontario; and work it all year round. Some smelts will be sold for 8 to 25 cents a pound to fish markets; rest will be sold for cat food.
