Original Toronto Star caption: To keep ahead of the flood-swollen Qu'Appelle River while it threatens Lumsden; Sask.; crews work on the dikes around the clock. The great wall of dirt and gravel held firm yesterday but problem is erosion. Bill Johnston says: The river is moving so fast it is cutting away the dikes at the bottom. Since the fight to save the town began Friday; trucks have brought in 100;000 tons of earth.
