The old house on Homewood Ave. is rocked to its foundations yesterday as it is carted about 15 metres (50 feet) north to the corner of Maitland Place to make way for a 26-storey apartment tower. It was raised on steel beams and transported by truck float; blocking the road for hours. The building will be renovated and will see new life as a neighborhood day-care centre.
