735-YACHTING ON LAKE ONTARIO, 1880-Showing the "Arrow" and "Gorilla," of the R.C.Y.C. fleet. The "Arrow" was a contestant in the famous regatta of 1860 in honor of the visit to Toronto of the late King Edward VII., then Prince of Wales. During his visit H.R.H. presented the R.C.Y.C. with a handsome champion cup, which is still styled the Prince of 'Wales' Cup, and sailed for annually. In 1865 the "Arrow" won the cup, her owner at that time being G. H. Wyatt, of Toronto. She was later owned by the late Judge Hamilton, of Kingston. The "Gorilla" was winner of the Prince of Wales' Cup in 1862-3-4, R. W. Standley being her owner in those years, and in 1872 she again appears as winner under the ownership of Capt. Gifford, of Cobourg. She was originally the American yacht "George Steers," designed by and named after the deSigner of the famous schooner "America," and for several years was one of the fastest yachts on Lake Ontario. \Vater color by \Vm.
