Original Toronto Star caption: The star of the show; grand old Santa waves from atop his reindeer-powered chariot; the final float in the mile-long Santa Claus parade through Toronto today. Crowds began lining the route as early 6:30 today to get choice spots for viewing the parade that started off at 8:30. Some of the 25 floats were as long as 60 feet. More than 1;000 children and students marched and 14 bands played.
