Original Toronto Star caption: A long tradition: Throngs of people lined the streets in 1919; top; and in 1923 to see the Santa Claus parade and welcome the jolly old elf back to town. The tradition began in 1905; when Santa rode up Yonge St. atop an Eaton's truck.
