Original Toronto Star caption: ''A homelike atmosphere'' is the goal at the Metro East Detention Centre, says architect Istvan Lendvay. The new jail, one of two being built in Metro, is expected to open in February. Passers-by in Scarborough have mistaken it for a new apartment building, but there are bars on the windows, placed horizontally to be less conspicuous.
