Original Toronto Star caption: Prisoners in mexican jail have set up a crafts shop to raise money to help buy food and clothing. Canadian and U.S. prisoners are on a hunger strike in Mexico City's Santa Marta Prison to try to get the government to grant parole to drug offenders. The Mexican penal code prohibits parole for such offenders; but legislation to make them eligible was introduced in Mexican congress during past term. Prisoners are angry because Mexico is no nearer to freeing them.
