The life and adventures of Lady Anne, the little pedlar

When her mother died in an inn leaving no identification, the five-year-old "Lady Anne" became a public charge. She left the workhouse at the age of twelve and, after a series of adventures in the homes of cruel or indifferent employers, was reunited with her father, the Earl of Malbourne.
