Frontispiece signed by W. Hopwood del. and J. Hopwood sculp. The stories "Mary Howe", "Susan Yates" and "Arabella Hardy" were written by Charles Lamb, the rest by Mary Lamb. The verso of p. 179 bears a publisher's advertisement for Tales from Shakespear in the 2 vol. ed. and in singles numbers. The witch aunt: The narrator explains how she once supposed her aunt to be a witch.
