"Toronto 01," from a series entitled Out of the Darkness. The source image is of the Emerald Condo Towers on Yonge Street, close to the location of the 2019 Toronto van attack.
This image was created by making multiple copies of the source image and placing them back to front, converting the rectangular image to a circle and then copying that circle and rotating it a certain number of degrees. The copied circle is then superimposed and then blended back into the original circle. The final image has darker edges that fade into the black of the background in order to fit the theme of Out Of The Darkness, which is to create an iridescent abstract image which acts as a commemorative tribute to the victims as well as a memorial that invokes a constructive conversation about surviving and healing from senseless violence.
