Notes
This engine was stationed in Centre division of Court Street Fire Hall. In 1852-3 the first No. 2, known as "Toronto," a "goose-neck" installed in 1831, was sold and a "piano" pattern bought by William Marks, of Temperance street, and name changed to "Rescue." In 1861, when hand·brake engines were discarded, this company resigned and engine was sold to a country town. A boys' hose company was attached in 1856-8 with Geo. McConkey as captain and John Ross Robertson 1st lieutenant.
