Holograph (black ink) written on stationery with letterhead "Undershaw, Hindhead, Haslemere" in upper right corner and "Telegrams--Hindhead" slantwise across upper left corner.; In this letter, to Reginald J. Smith, head of the publishing firm Smith, Elder & Co., Doyle refers to the American edition of his monograph, The war in South Africa : it's cause and conduct and also discusses the German translation of Friederich Hertz's book, Right and wrong in the Boer War.; Letter is undated but "Rec'd 10 Mar 1902" is pencilled in.
