St. Clements- the tradition of service continues at Northern District. St. Clements branch , 14 St. Clements Avenue at Yonge Street will close November 29, 1975. The staff and collections will become part of the new Northern District Library. Since the opening in 1923, St. Clements has been a key neighbourhood branch in the north end of the City of Toronto. Declared a historical site in 1974, the building will be turned over to the jurisdiction of the City of Toronto to be remodelled as a Day Care Centre. Head of the branch at closing is Rosemary Sheppard, who becomes Assistant Head of the Northern District Library.  (TPL News, November 25, 1975)
