George Herbert Locke, approximately age 23

"G. H. Locke, Collingwood, is a son of the Rev. J. H. Locke of Collingwood. It was currently reported that he had come to fill the place of “Shorty” Langford, but was found on investigation to be a few inches short of the regulation size. At a recent clandestine meeting of the Class of ’93 in the lecture-room of Faraday Hall, Mr. Locke was voted into the Presidential chair. He puts up at “Northcote” where he is protected from the ravages of the blood-hound by the vigilance of his fellow Freshies. He is a genial, good-natured young gentleman, always willing to tell you everything he knows, and sometimes a little more. Is an honor man in Classics and thinks of establishing a society in that department, to run opposition to the “Modern Language Club” and the “Science Association.”"
