Original Toronto Star caption: A new tempo for train transport in Ontario. CNR and Toronto municipal officials gathered yesterday at Union Station to send a new train; called the Tempo; on its first service through citiese in Southwestern Ontario. The compact Tempo doesn't need the conventional dining; baggage; sleeping or steam generator cars. Cooking by microwave allows at-your-seat dining; while sleeping cars are unnecessary because the train is designed for fast same-day service. The light aluminum ears hit high speeds with low-powered engines.
