Original Toronto Star caption: No. 6218 Puffs her way into retirement; Belching steam-and you don't hardly see that anymore-Canadian National's locomotive No. 6218 speeds through Metro on its way to Orillia on a one-day excursion that may be the last run for a steam locomotive in Canada. About 600 rail enthusiasts were aboard for the trip; sponsored by Upper Canada Railway Society at a cost of $6;000. Such excursions must soon end; because of maintenance difficulties.
