Original Toronto Star caption: Hundreds of abandoned and damaged cars lined highways and roads leading into Metro after the storm. These motorists failed to make it to Toronto International Airport ? cars were strewn along the airport expressway. Traffic lights and signals were twisted off their standards by the hurricane-force winds that gusted up to 120 km/h (72 mph). Homes south of the Queen Elizabeth Way were without power when hydro feeder lines were knocked out. Classes at Humber College were cancelled.
