Original Toronto Star caption: Smashed by the storm this Sudbury house had most of its roof ripped away by 100-mile-an-hour winds that swept through Nickel Belt area yesterday leaving millions of dollars damage in their wake. In Sudbury; more than 600 houses were badly damaged; many of them beyond repair. Many families; however; slept last night in their shattered homes because there was no place else to go. Makeshift plastic or plywood roofs were distributed by volunteer groups.
