Original Toronto Star caption: The windsor curling rink in which eight persons were killed and eleven injured had the roof ripped off and a wall demolished by a freak tornado. Concrete blocks were shattered; trapping the injured; and steel beams were scattered for more than 1;000 feet. High winds left a trail of damage in other parts of Windsor but there were no reports of other injuries. Power to 10;000 persons wac cut off for five hours; windows were broken; cars and roofs were damaged.
