Original Toronto Star caption: Heredity transmits defects in the way the body produces or uses cholesterol, the blood fat that can clog arteries and cause strokes. Bev Nisenboim takes her sons Shawn and Eliot - who have, like her, a cholesterol condition - to the Lipid Clinic at St. Michael's Hospital for blood tests from technician Teresa Lippingwell. The clinic was the first in Canada to treat outpatients for abnormal levels of blood fat.
