Original Toronto Star caption: A patched-up heart was the only present 6-year-old Julie Bristol asked for Christmas - and she celebrated Christmas yesterday by playing with nurse Mrs. Carolyn Carew after undergoing open heart surgery on Thursday. Because of her unusual blood type, 14 blood donors with the proper type of blood were needed to make the operation possible. She was born with the hole in her heart, called an atrial septal defect, requiring 3 1/2-hour operation.
