Original Toronto Star caption: Terra cotta inn gutted: Smoke pours from the Terra Cotta Inn this morning as fire destroyed the well-known landmark 10 miles northwest of Brampton. Damage was estimated at $400,000 by Strachan Bongard, who had bought the inn in February and had it completely redecorated and refurnished with antiques. The inn was originally a 19th-century frame house and was altered in 1950 to recreate the atmosphere of an old English Inn. Four people escaped fire.
