Original Toronto Star caption: Man; 60; Halts runaway outside city hall. It probably couldn't happen again without several casualties but a fleet-footed horse attached to a bread wagon; traversed a distance of more than a mile south on Bay St. from Charles to Queen St.; passed red lights; swung in and out of traffic; missed dozens of motor cars; sideswiped a truck and escaped without any injury to himself; no pedestrians injured and only a broken shaft to the wagon. In his wake; however; he left many a motorist and pedestrian with weak hearts and jumpy nerves. The hero of the run was H. Wentworth; 60; of Dundas St. W.; who risked his life at the crowded corner of Queen and Bay Sts.; when he jumped at the horse's head and halted him. Highlights of the horse's run are shown here. (1) A Star artist's conception of the horse's gallop; with the final capture being made by Mr. Wentworth.
