Original Toronto Star caption: Andrew smith estate sold. Above is a photograph of the old city registry office; which is now in the hands of the wreckers; who will tear it down in the next two weeks to make way for a modern office building. Beside the registry office and to the left of the picture is shown 41 Richmond street west; which has been sold by the Andrew Smith estate through the agency of the Toronto General Trusts Company's real estate department to the National Trust Company for $40;000. The Andrew Smith estate formerly had large holdings in the purlieus of Richmond and Temperance streets; including the site of the old Ontario Veterinary College. The parcel just disposed of is the last of the estate's holdings in this vicinity.
