Original Toronto Star caption: Yonge-St. Clair corner sold for half a million. Here is a photograph of the northwest corner of Yonge street and St. Clair avenue; sale of which by George L. Thompson; builder; for $500;000; was announced yesterday. Arthur William Hughes; Toronto real estate broker; is cited as purchaser; it being understood that he is acting for the United Cigar Stores. The property; which was built by Mr. Thompson; has been purchased as an investment and will not be altered in any way. Frontages are 156 feet 10 inches on Yonge street and 167 feet 6 inches on St. Clair avenue. Stores with apartments overhead make up the property.
